Sweet Deserets Emia Shan LA 05-04 91 EEEE
DOB: 3/19/2014 LA91 (EEEE) @ 02-05
Abigail is in love with her Zheng line, and rightfully so! Zheng, Cho Chang and Dynasty are all gorgous does. It has always been Joshua however who wants the blue does, however with the birth of Emia Shan, Abigail began a line of blues.
We bred Cho Chang to Anteros with the hope that he would add some size and length. When Emia Shan was born we were so pleased, as soon as she got on her feet it was apparant this Cho Chang colored doe had the length and height we were looking for.
2019
Emai Shan appraised LA 91 EEEE
2018
Emia Shan took reserve grand at three shows and earned another leg toward her permanent championship. One more to go.
2017
Our beautiful Emia Shan had a difficult pregnancy and did not recover in time to look her best at an early June appraisal.
2016
Emia Shan freshened with twins! As she came into full production it was readily apparant that this is going to be a special doe! We were so happy when she appraised LA 90 VEEE as a two year old second freshener and ecstatic once again when she went Grand Champion in a ring at state fair. Abigail says just wait for this doe to mature a little!
2015
Emia Shan was bred to Caleb we were excited to see how Anteros affected the excellent mammary system of Cho Chang. It was unfortunate that Emia Shan aborted weeks early and although we milked her, she never fully came into milk.

Zheng freshened with triplet doelings all very correct! This is exactly what we had been hoping for.
LINEAR APPRAISAL
In June, Zheng appraised LA 03-03 89 VVVE
We were a little disappointed with this appraisal but acknowledged that Zheng was still carrying too much weight. In time she milked some of that weight off and she looked much nicer during State Fair.
State Fair 2012
We intentionally did not bring any finished champions to the State Fair, hoping to earn some legs on some of the other does. We were very happy when Zheng won Grand Champion, and then went on to place Best of Breed, and also win Champions Challenge against some outstanding competition.
What excites me the most about this doe is I think the best is yet to come.
2011
In January toward the end of her extended (two year) lactation, as a first Freshner Zheng is still producing well milking over 7# per day.
SPRING
Zheng did not settle her pregnancy and as a result we are milking her through. She is still very consistent in her production.
2010
I need updated pictures, but will have to wait for her to freshen.
Zheng freshened with a single doe 3-12-2010. She has an amazing udder, extremely smoothly blended in the fore, carried high in the rear, with a nice medial. The only thing we would change about her udder is teat placement. The appraiser suggested as she widened and matured, the teats will look more central on the gorgeous mammary she carries.
As a first freshner Zheng consistently milked 9 pounds with great components!

In the other three rings Zheng consistently placed 1st or second in her class. This really pleased us because she has been milking now for 20 straight months as a first freshener and her udder frankly is a little stale. We think it is pretty impressive for a stale two year old to take reserve champion with some pretty stiff competition. We can’t wait to see the udder on this doe when she freshens in the spring of 2013.

This line is known for their remarkable feet and legs and even more for their sweet and mild temperament. This flashy doe had to be kept for Abigail. Although she is nice, she did not really stand out to me in the kid pen or as a first freshener (there is a lot of competition in this age group (Herra, Hippolyte, Ginny W, Hermoine, Greenstone, Horchata, Garrish, Gemstone, Heckofa all of whom appraise 90 0r above) I placed her for sale and no one was interested so we held on to her. Perhaps in spite of her flashy color she will stick around . . . heck it is tough to sell does that appraise 90 and above.

Meyers MG April
We jumped at the opportunity when the Meyers made Aprils dam available to us, add to it that Mimosa Mist was bred to Meyers MBBC Gladiator (#4 on the ADGA Sire Summary http://adga.org/SD/EliteBuck.htm) We were ecstatic.
2014
April did not settle last fall so we milked her through. The day before appraisal I annotated her sheet NIC (not in condition) as she had been milking for almost 20 months. However the morning of the appraisal she had a little more milk and we agreed to show her. Boy were we ever pleased when she appraised LA 91 EEEE. Look at her daughter Caprice who appraised LA89 as a two-year-old.
2013 State Fair

3-24-2011
April freshened with 1 doeling (blossom) and one buckling (buddy). She has a remarkable udder with near-perfect teat placement!
Recently a friend who has been involved in showing and judging dairy goats for years came to the farm to check on this year’s freshenings, he could not believe April (or Asias) udders. These goats are first fresheners? He said in amazement. All I can say is WOW! These girls are very nice!
Fall 2010
April continues to be very impressive. She has the most body capacity of any of the 2010 doelings. She is a very correct doeling (see her Young Stock Appraisal)
April is Bred to LOT Zoombak for March 28, 2011 kids.
2010
April is a growth kid. At first, she and her sister Asia just did not fit in. I thought their coloring made them look like two Holstein calves, among all of our black and tans it took some adjusting.
As of July 10, 2010, Aprils Dam Mimosa Mist is milking consistently over 15 pounds per day and is #1 in our herd right now, she has a remarkable udder and an amazing will to milk.

Lucky*Stars TR Valkerie 3*M
Valkerie has been a favorite from the moment I saw her. I absolutely love her pedigree, it just does not get any better than Lucky*Stars Krystal and Tempo Notta Ross. When Judi Hoy offered her to us, we were ecstatic (Thanks Judi and Don). When we first brought her home from Washington, I would often go out to the barn to see her with her head out of the stall and my 3 year old Jacob with his arms around her neck hugging her. She has been appropriately nick named ”Princess”. And oh does she ever act like one!
2010
Continually the ”princess” Valkerie will not get off the milk stand until she is loved.
Unfortunately this year Valkerie struggled with some mastitis. We tried to keep on top of it and think we have it resolved, we will see with her next freshening.
Valkerie is bred to LOT Zoombak for an April 2nd 2011 kidding. This is a repeat of the 2009 breeding that produced Aaivillia and JR GRCH Atlanta.
UPDATE 3-31-11
When we purchased Valkerie Don and Judi suggested that she came from a line of slow maturing goats. Her sister, Lucky*Stars QM Paradigm (see her at http://www.luckystarfarm.com/del.html ) was not shown until age 6, then placed 6th at Nationals and finished GCH in one year. Valkerie’s udder has improved once again this year. It has filled out in the rear increased in depth and she still has an AMAZING fore udder and great overall attachment. We can wait to see her fill it in the coming weeks. She was a little thin after freshening with 3 large kids but she is quickly coming back into condition.

I can not get a good picture of this doe. She has not been shown though she is sweet as can be around the pen with other goats and our children. She is soo mellow on the milk stand and milks easily.

Sweet Deserets LSC Ember LA 04-04 90 EEEV
Ember is a twin out of one of my personal favorite breedings. She is particularly special because her dam died shortly after kidding, Blaize was a family favorite from our “princess” line. The temperment of this doe is remarkable. She has the sweetest disposition and is so mellow and easy to handle. With amazing udder texture excellent teat placement and great orifice size she is a dream to milk by hand. Easily our fastest milker.
2018
Very pleased this beautiful doe showed better at appraisal this year scoring LA90 EEEV
2017
It is very difficult to be patient when other does in the herd are showing and appraising better. I think we will continue to be patient with this doe. I like the measurable potential we see in this doe. We were frankly disappointed with her appraisal score. I assume responsibility as I did not have her ready for appraisal.
2016
Ember freshened early with a doe and a buck. She did not come into quite as much milk as she had the year before. She had been milking for 6 months at appraisal in August and appraised a respectable LA 87 02-03 VVEV she placed toward the top of her class each time showed being beat out by her sister Emblaizen (who placed 1st and Reserve Grand at State Fair). I love this doe, it may take a couple more years for her to reach her potential.
2015
Ember freshened with two beautiful buck kids and a gorgeous udder. High and wide with nice extension in the fore and beautiful attachment. Ember is long and tall as we had hoped for with this breeding.
2014
We were so excited for this breeding. It was a repeat of the breeding from the year before that produced a set of quads including the beautiful LC Diana owned by the Massey family (LA 90 (VEEE) @ 03-06). After selling all of the 2013 kids from this breeding we committed to keeping a doe we were rewarded with two (See Embers sister Emblaizen)
